ODM chief Raila Odinga and Wiper boss Kalonzo Musyoka are inching closer to striking a political deal ahead of the official unveiling of the Azimio la Umoja presidential flag bearer this coming Saturday.
The two leaders, who have previously worked together more than once, are expected to team up and build the next government under Uzimio-OKA Coalition.
They have expected to drop their differences and ego and come together to better the lives of all Kenyans under the Azimio-OKA deal.
Both leaders have agreed to close ranks after days of behind-the-scenes negotiations by their trusted allies to reunite them.
Kalonzo has insisted that the ODM Chief support his bid for the top seat, alleging that it was part of the deal they signed in 2017.
Kalonzo, who missed the ODM’s delegates meeting where Raila Odinga was fronted as the party’s flag bearer, is expected to attend the mega Azimio political event in Nairobi this coming Saturday Raila will be unveiled as the coalition’s flag bearer.
According to Kanu Secretary-General Nick Salat, “The talks are going on so well so far. We are in Azimio. There is no debate about that. Take that to the bank and get a loan.”
“The talks have been successful so far, and Wiper leader is expected to attend the Saturday big rally.”
On his part, Kanu leader Gideon Moi on Tuesday showered Raila with praises, describing the ODM boss as a patriot, and further declaring his support for Raila Odinga’s presidential bid.
On his Twitter handle, Moi said, “I have today bumped into my good friend and patriot, Hon Raila Odinga on my way to Samburu for Naisula Lesuuda’s re-election campaign launch.”
Makueni MP Maanzo, an ally of Kalonzo, insisted that the two leaders must form a working plan if they must beat Deputy President William Ruto from winning the 2022 presidential election.
“Those leaders must work together or they will give Ruto a smooth ride. They need each other,” Maanzo said.
Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua and UDP boss Cyrus Jirongo are the other co-principals of OKA.
They are also expected to attend the Saturday Azimio-OKA function, where Raila is expected to front Raila as a joint presidential candidate.
