Fredrick Muitiriri Lands New Job, Days After Leaving Switch TV.

Fredrick Muitiriri, a former Switch TV News Anchor and Managing Editor joined TV47 days after leaving Switch TV.

The majority of the staff, including Muitiriri, were rendered jobless after the Red Cross Owned Media House decided to shut its operations.

According to sources close to, all staff at Switch TV had their contracts expiring by December, 31st 2021.

Fredrick Muitiriri shared the new3s of his departure from Switch TV on his social media account.

He wrote, “After almost two years serving Switch TV Kenya, lights have been switched off. It’s an end of an era. As some may be aware, the station has moved on to a different direction which meant closing down of our Newsroom.”

But even before the dust settled, Muitiriri was already on his way to another TV station, TV24. 

The highly talented news presenter shared a Promo on his Twitter account, “Muitiriri Will soon be unveiled as a Swahili news anchor at TV47.”

Muitiriri tweeted, ”On Dec 31stDec 31st 2021, my former station officially closed & rendered many of us jobless, COVID-19 manenos, but by Jan 5thJan 5th 2022, God had already opened a new door at TV47, Home of Untold Stories! I serve a God who neither sleeps nor slumbers. He is a kind God, you can Trust Him.” 

Ording to Switch TV chairman Sahil Shah, the media house intends to focus its operations on the digital space.

Sahil said the decision was influenced by the new market demands, which forced the media house to redesign its strategy.
