Why Did Nelson Havi Choose Ruto’s UDA Party And Not Raila’s ODM?

LSK President Nelson Havi has officially joined politics. Earlier on Monday 22, November, DP Ruto received the city lawyer to the UDA party.

 Wakili Nelson Havi will now vie for the Westlands parliament seat on a UDA ticket.

 Nelson Havi had earlier own indicated that he will no longer work with ODM chief Raila Odinga.

 Havi represented NASA and ODM leader Raila Odinga during the 2017 presidential petition.

After the 2017 presidential petition and the repeat presidential elections, NASA’s Presidential candidate Raila Odinga boycotted, and Uhuru Kenyatta was elected president.

But On the other side, Raila was also sworn in as the people’s president in a ceremony that TJ Kajwang and Miguna Miguna officiated.

But on March 9. 2018, Kenyans woke up to the shocking news of the handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM Chief Raila Odinga.

Nelson Havi was received by the DP and UDA party William Ruto on Monday 22, November 2021.

DP Ruto has promised free and fair nominations.

UDA party members who welcomed Havi to the UDA party include MPs Aden Duale (Garissa town), Rigathi Gachagua (mathira), and Kimani Ichungwa of Kikuyu. 

Others present were Senator Kipchumba Murkomen and Uasin Gishu County Governor Jackson Mandago.
