Funnyman Eric Omondi plans to petition Member of Parliament to legislate over what he termed “playing time for Kenyan music/content by local stations.”
“Charity begins at home.” Eric believes that drafting a law that will compel local stations to play local content is one of the many ways to ensure growth in Kenya’s Entertainment Industry.
Eric mentioned countries like South Africa, Nigeria and Zimbabwe as some of the African Country’s that play local content.

It will be interesting to know that no one from the entertainment industry joined Eric during the Tuesday protest.
Netflix’s Eddie Butita is one of the many entertainers who found good excuses for not being part of the protest.
Butita said, “Nilitoka vizuri nikapata puncture hapo Valley Road. I then tried to fix the issue but when I bent down, I found that there was a snake beneath the car. So I started killing it which took me a lot of time.”

“By the time I was done killing the snake, I saw that Eric had already been arrested by the police. But honestly, I was at a shoot, that’s the reason I wasn’t able to get there. I even have the proof,” Butita added.
