The Orange Democratic Movement Party (ODM), through the party’s Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna, has assured their supporters that the party will field candidates for all positions in Nairobi.
Sifuna further explained that “As a party they had the responsibility to ‘feed’ their own.”
Nairobi is considered to be one of the strongholds of ODM.
We were informed earlier that the ODM and Jubilee party were working to support one candidate for each elective position in Nairobi.
The ODM Secretary said, “Nairobi as we speak is one under President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga. As a political party, ODM will field candidates for all the positions in Nairobi and I believe Jubilee Will have theirs too.”
Speaking during Westlands Member of Parliament Tim Wanyonyi’s launch for the Nairobi Gubernatorial seat, Sifuna said, “ODM will not be divided when it comes to Nairobi Gubernatorial candidate.”

Sifuna was representing ODM leader Raila Odinga, who is currently touring the coastal region.
Sifuna was accompanied by Nairobi MCAs lead Minority Leader Michael Ogada and Mathare MP Anthony Oluoch.
Wanyonyi now joins Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja and former Starehe MP Bishop Margaret Wanjiru in the Nairobi’s big seat race.
The Westlands MP was endorsed by Ida Odinga last month, something that has created a silent battle with the Orange Democratic Party.
Wanyonyi, who has served the people of Westlands first as a councilor and as a Member of Parliament for two terms, feels he is ready to become the next governor of Nairobi.
Delivering his Manifesto, the Westlands MP said his number one objective is to fight corruption in the city by introducing a cashless system, which he believes will go a long way in sealing all loopholes.
Wanyonyi also promised to integrate ICT as a core enabler of functions and services by the county government of Nairobi.
