A question is an excellent place to start our discussion. When should you take that first step? Steve Jobs said, “If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I’m about to do today?”
Many of us have so many regrets about our past failures, and we ask ourselves questions like, why didn’t I do this when I needed to? Why didn’t I take that first step?
Well, all that is not important now, yesterday is gone, and you will never see it again in your life, which makes today the most important day in your life.
The bible reads, “This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it.” Let this sink IN. Understand it first.
Let’s talk some truth here, I know that one cannot be one hundred percent ready, but you can give it a one hundred percent start. Take that first step now.
Treat today like it is the only day you’ve got.
The idea here is to discourage you from waiting for the conditions to be perfect before you take that important first step. You will never have that excellent condition.
Zig Ziglar said, “As you set your long-range goals, let me urge you not to attempt to overcome all the obstacles before you start.”
“Nobody, but nobody would ever attempt anything of significance if all the obstacles had to be removed before they started,” Zig added.
Benjamin Franklin said, “One today is worth two tomorrows.”
Understand that perfect conditions often do not contribute much to your growth; they make you comfortable and slow you down.
There is no such thing as a perfect condition.
Take the first step and things will begin to work out in your favour.

The challenges you have to overcome daily will eventually enable you to grow.
Work until you get the desired results, do not stop working on your goals even for a single day; a stop will slow you down, and you will push you to start all over again.
Start with what you have and where you are. You do not need to have everything to take your first step
In his excellent book, The Magic of Thinking Big, David Schwartz said, “People who get things done in this world don’t wait for the spirit to move them, they move the spirit.”
You must get up and move for things to move. Just make sure you move in the right direction.
I, too, had to decide to start working on this article. I had thought so much about it, and I always wanted to start, but I held myself back.
I didn’t know where to start.
I must admit that even after starting to work on the article, I still found some excuses and stopped several times.
Something kept pulling me back, and because of this, so much time passed.
Then One day, I decided and said enough is enough, and “The Day I Walked to Work” was born. I hope it awakens the sleeping giant in you.
David Schwartz understood when he said, “The most difficult thing to do is it getting out of a warm bed and moving into a cold room.”
Life is a journey,
I strongly agree; yes, it is difficult and sometimes even painful. But when you desire something so much, not even pain can stop you.
Next, you will learn about the importance of doing research. You will also understand why it must not take too long.
A wise man observed, “Education covers a lot of ground, but it won’t cultivate any of it.”
Research gives you the direction, but it does not tell you to turn right or left when you need to.
Research creates the feeling, but it does not give you the experience.
You do not get experience by writing notes; you gain experience by getting down to work.
Research tells you that you are good at something, but doing it makes you a better person.
Do not be cheated on that you can remove all the obstacles or have a list of clients lined up for your services before you start.
How can you even work on removing the obstacles that you don’t know or haven’t seen? Your only obstacle right now is you.
Start today. Start now. Research is something you can continue with as you work on your goals.
It would be best if you improve your business constantly, and the only way to do that is to continue doing your research.
It even becomes more enjoyable when you can evaluate your results.
John C. Maxwell said, “Make a point to continually search for better ways of doing things, even when things are going well, to ensure that a better alternative has not been overlooked and to keep your creative talent in practice.”
NOW is your only chance of success. Now is the time to take that first step.
