Boniface Mwangi explains what happened in a tweet, “I was at my barbershop when some young men and GSU officer walked in and arrested the receptionist.”

“We asked them to identify themselves, they said they were from KRA but had no identification cards… I refused to give my phone and they beat me up,” he added.

None of the alleged KRA Officers had job identification cards, so I asked them to call someone who had I.D. But they declined.

According to Mwangi, “the GSU officers and the men without Job identification cards were under the command of a Nairobi Metropolitan Service (NMS) employee.”

“Because I recorded them, the GSU officers wanted to take my phone, I refused and in my attempt to run away, I fell. They caught up with me and beat me up,” he added.

“Even After the beating I didn’t hand over my phone.”

Mwangi is said to have suffered some bruises on both legs, but he is fine.
