Make Your Mind Work for you with these 5 steps.

“Lessons from the day I walked to work.”

PART 2

It was a rainy morning as I boarded a bus to town to buy materials to complete a client project.

Thoughts kept rolling in and out of my mind. I was constantly thinking about the job I had lost a few months ago due to the effects of COVID-19.

“I think I can do better if given another chance,” I said to myself.

What other chance? I already lost that chance, and I needed to focus on what was important.

I decided to focus on the task ahead, and from this day on, when I was at work, I was at work, I set the record straight in my mind. I set a goal each day to remain focused on what it is I was doing.

I knew I needed to do more.

To do more on personal development.

Do you ever realize that sometimes you overthink and do very little? Do you know why? Because man is only good at overthinking, without taking action.

All my life, I wanted to please people, to make people feel good, and in the process, I ended up ignoring how I felt.

The truth of the matter is that I never felt good about it, but I kept on doing it over and over, thinking that someone would treat me the same way.

It is a mistake one should never make.

Here are tips on letting your mind do the work.

“As a man thinks in his heart, so is he”

A piece of advice! Every day when you wake up, decide to stand guard at the door of your mind.

·        Learn to say NO.

Saying no doesn’t mean that you are not good at helping others; it means you take your priorities seriously.

Nobody will ever take you seriously if you are always on the YES side.

You cannot say yes to everything, and you have got to learn to say NO, even when nobody expects you to. Set this in your mind to take care of your priorities before you lend someone your time.

·        Prioritize.

Develop a plan before you start your day. Prioritizing is a pre-decision on how you are going to spend your time.

Set your priorities on what you want and not what the environment wants you to have.

·        Belief.

Belief is simply a feeling of certainty about what something means to you. In this case, what does your goal mean to you?

Develop a mindset of positive beliefs. You can also decide to develop a belief system, believe you can succeed and you will.

You can make yourself happy by deciding what to believe and what not to believe.

Believe that you have the ability to learn and develop new skills, abilities, and habits.

·        Complexity.

Growth only occurs when you feel some level of discomfort. Choose to go the hard way. Remember, most people want it easy. Going in the hard mode will give you the niche you desire.

What makes you comfortable can easily ruin your life. Discomfort forces you to think of a way to better your best and to grow.

Refuse to do it the usual way because this only leads you to predictable outcomes.

Refusing to follow orders forces you to move in the direction of complexity.

Complexity forces you to focus on the available opportunities, and if there are none, it positions you to create them.

·        Keep on knocking on that door.

If you keep on knocking, the door of opportunity will certainly open.

  • The door of a better job.
  • You will get good business partners.
  • You will be able to expand your business.

“Only those people who constantly search will find.”

Mathew 7: 7 “Ask, and it shall be given to you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.”

Make up your mind to do something when the idea is still hot in your mind and heart. Do not wait.

Your thinking power is the most important.

I will leave you with the words of John C. Maxwell, “The thinking that guides your intelligence is much more important than how much intelligence you may have.”

Let me drop this here, listen to the end.
